JSEC - Junos Security

Training description

This 5-day training course introduces students to the capabilities of Juniper Networks SRX Service Gateways. During the lectures, students together with an instructor will compare the capabilities of different gateway models, study the process of implementing gateways into corporate networks and deal with the step-by-step process of configuring basic security SRX mechanisms. Students will become familiar with such concepts as zones, security policies, Screen or NAT. In addition, instructor will provide information about the supported VPN connection options and the ability to combine multiple SRX devices into a cluster.

During the labs students will become familiar with the basic security mechanisms and will gain experience in configuring and monitoring SRX devices, including virtual vSRX, running Junos OS.

Intended Audience

This training will be useful technical specialists who work with SRX series devices, including network engineers, system administrators, security engineers, network designers, technical support specialists and pre-sales specialists.

Expected students’ skills and knowledge

As a prerequisite students will need to have a knowledge about OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol stack. Additionally, it is recommended that students have experience with devices running Junos, which can be obtained during the following training: Introduction to the Junos Operating System (IJOS).
